App DescriptionZen Log helps you understand and improve your health parameters by making it amazingly simple to log various aspects of your health and life. It uses an innovative and intuitive input paradigm to make it vastly easier to capture data about yourself.
★ SIMPLE & INTUITIVE ★
The interface is a breeze to use and revolves around only two modes: scrolling to the right place, and doing a long-press (tap and hold) to capture and log a value.
It has been thoughtfully designed to stay out of your way:
☆ No hierarchy to navigate.
☆ Requires very little precision from your fingers.
☆ Recent values are not shown while logging (thus avoiding anchoring effects).
☆ Black and White color scheme (does not influence mood or other subjective logs).
Designed to make life-logging less of a chore, the interface makes logging a casual, almost careless, gesture.
★ ROBUST & FUTURE-PROOF ★
The app has been tested over thousands of captured data points. It remains fast and robust as you rack up data.
You can export your data by emailing yourself a CSV (comma separated values) file. A CSV file can be opened for analysis in a simple text editor or your favorite spreadsheet program (OS X Numbers, or Microsoft Excel, for example).
It uses standards that have existed for decades (CSV was invented before the computing era) and will continue to exist for a long time (email isn't going anywhere).
★ FAST ★
Zen Log has been painstakingly crafted to launch extremely quickly. On older devices, such as an iPhone 3G, it launches a whole second faster than other life-logging apps.
★ Why Log? ★
There are three good reasons to log various aspects of your health:
✓ Simply logging something will make you more aware of it and how it varies with time. This will help you understand your health better.
✓ Once you start quantifying something, you'll be motivated to improve it - it gets to be like a game.
✓ You can detect unexpected patterns and connections by seeing how the values change with time or with each other.
