Trimensional: MakerBot Edition is a revolutionary 3D scanner that lets you quickly capture 3D models, upload them to Thingiverse.com, and print them out on your MakerBot 3D printer.

Technology: The app takes advantage of both the screen and the front-facing camera on your iOS device, detecting patterns of light reflected off your skin (and other surfaces) to build a true 3D model.

Speed: The 3D scanning process takes 4 seconds in total, from the moment you hit the capture button to the time you're looking at a 3D model which you can rotate, zoom, and share.

Exporting: Upload ready-to-print STL files directly to Thingiverse.com or export any scan as an STL, OBJ, or PLY file via email, with optional mesh smoothing. STL: watertight geometry suitable for 3D printing, OBJ: texture-mapped polygonal model compatible with Maya, Blender, and most other 3D software packages, PLY: point cloud with position (XYZ) and color (RGB) information per vertex.
