Food for Kids: An Introduction to Nutrition

Which foods are best to eat? Why are they good for you? Young people today are bombarded with choices at school, restaurants, the grocery store, and at home. As they become old enough to make their own decisions about what to eat, children need reliable information in order to choose wisely. Using this fun iPad app, young learners discover which nutrients are in foods and how they promote good health. Facts about the value of forty-six everyday foods are provided, as well as interesting notes on the origin and history of fruits and vegetables, grains, proteins and dairy products.

Activities:

Word Drop - Word Drop challenges the learner to complete a sentence about nutrition by choosing the correct missing word.

Missing Word - Missing Word asks the user to spell the missing word.

Match-Up - In Match-Up the player selects the correct word to fill in the blank in a larger block of text.
