App Description

Our Learn the USA Presidents App is a fun and easy-to-use tool for learning the names of each of the 44 United States Presidents along with their terms of office and some trivia. The program features a Reference section and a Quiz section.

The Reference section has an interactive list of the president names. Touching the name will take the student to a page hosting an image of the president with term of office and trivia information. With the display of page, the rank and name of the president are narrated for the student to hear the proper pronunciation. To obtain more detailed information about any of the presidents, the student only needs tap the image of that president and they will be directed to a related Wikipedia.com online encyclopedia page.

The Quiz section has two different 44 question tests. The first is a multiple choice quiz for learning the chronological order of the presidencies. The second is a multiple choice quiz matching the presidents to a corresponding trivia fact. If the student selects the wrong answer during either quiz, a message pops up to tell them what the correct answer should have been, thus helping the student to learn. The score is tallied as the student progresses through the quiz. After answering the last question, the student is taken to the results page to see their final score. A report of the results may be emailed from this page for record keeping (internet connectivity required).

This application is self-contained and does not require an internet connection except for emailing the optional quiz results report or for linking to Wikipedia.com for more detailed information. It is an excellent tool to use by the individual student or for an entire class.
