App Description

The UNOSAT App lets you stay in touch with the world of humanitarian rapid mapping and emergency response viewed through the satellite-based maps and analysis created by UNOSAT, the Operational Satellite Applications Programme at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). UNOSAT is a technology-intensive centre of excellence delivering imagery analysis and satellite solutions to UN Member States and relief and development organisations within and outside the UN system to help make a difference in critical areas such as humanitarian assistance, human security, strategic territorial planning and development planning. With this application you can, wherever you are, access UNOSAT maps and analysis, learn more about satellite derived maps, their use by the United Nations and the international humanitarian community, stay up to date on news and features concerning UNOSAT and even request an emergency map from UNOSAT (for professionals only).
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) makes concrete contributions to developing the capacities of tens of thousands of people around the world and respond to the growing demand from UN Member States for training for capacity development in the fields of Environment; Peace, Security and Diplomacy; and Governance. UNITAR also conducts research on knowledge systems to explore innovative approaches for high-quality training and technology applications with the goal of benefiting the entire United Nations system and its beneficiaries around the world.
