The Christmas Lottery is one of the most popular lottery draws held in Spain every Dec. 22, and takes place usually in the room draws Lotteries State, in Madrid.

It is a part of the National Lottery draws. The maximum award is known as El Gordo, which since 2011 has a value of 4 million euros a ticket, 400,000 euros to the tenth. The sales period for this draw is the longest of the year, because the administrations receives the numbers since the first week of July. Therefore it is not surprising that it is also the best selling and most popular draws.

The data in drawing the Christmas Lottery

The draw is done by the traditional system, a drum for numbers and another for prizes.
It lasts about three hours.
Consists of 180 series.
100,000 each set of tickets.
The price of a whole number is 36,000 euros.
The price of each ticket is 200 euros, divided into tenths of 20 euros.
The total issue amounts to EUR 3,600,000,000.
The total is for awards (70% of the issue) amounted to EUR 2,520,000,000.
Each series awards distributed 14,000,000 euros.
A total of 27,547,200 prizes were distributed .
