App Description

► “Mandarin Facile • Niveau 1” is a French-based language App that teaches the fundamentals of the Mandarin language. “Mandarin Facile • Niveau 1” comprises a total of 10 lessons that introduce topics such as: "Chinese characters", "History and Evolution of the Language", "Sounds and Pinyin", "Words", "Spelling", "Chinese Idioms", etc.

► Each lesson has several interactive exercises (in total 35 exercises) that test your newly acquired knowledge and memory:

        ✔ Definition to Character
        ♂ Character to Definition
        ♬ Sound to Tone
        ♬ Sound to Pinyin
        ♬ Sound to Character
        ♂ Character Writing (Handwriting)
        ♂ Character to Radical
        ❤ Story To Pinyin
        ❤ Story Dictation

► Only when all exercises for a given lesson have been successfully passed will you be able to move on to the next lesson.

► Once all lessons are passed, you will be given a short story in Chinese that you will translate, read, take a dictation, and record/listen to your own voice. Do not worry, we will take you there, slowly but steadily.

► Finally, the last part, "Final Tests," consists of 3 interactive tests that cover the entire knowledge you have acquired in all lessons.

► Through this iPad application, we intend to show that, although mastering the Chinese language may take a lifetime, an understanding of the basics can be grasped in a relatively short time, laying the groundwork for subsequent serious studies.
