PocketEarth v1.6 corrects a number of important issues/bugs and includes a few minor enhancements:

• New group details screen with ability to export the group to GPX and 'PocketEarth Archive' formats.
• Export individual routes and tracks to 'PocketEarth Archive' format.
• Long press on a group in your favorites list to view it on the map.
• Long press on destinations in the Destinations Search screen for additional options/shortcuts.
• Allow rename of Fav POI.
• Easier to read GPS info bar.
• Swipe over main buttons to show bigger GPS info anytime (iPhone only; when GPS is active).
• Improved compass smoothing and current location indicator arrow positioning.

Important bug fixes:

• Rare network issue that could allow download over cellular even when in WiFi only mode.
• Fixed "Open In..." export to other apps not working for 'PocketEarth Archive' files.
• Fixed occasional crashes.

« How's it Work? »

Just select the cities, regions, or even entire countries you want to download, and it will be available for offline use, complete with information on thousands of POIs (Points of Interest), and travel guides and Wikipedia articles.

To do this we utilize open data from openstreetmap.org, naturalearthdata.com, geonames.org, wikivoyage.org, and wikipedia.org and compress and package it in a format optimized for mobile devices. PocketEarth renders beautiful vector maps in real-time using our OpenGL ES based MagikEngine technology. So unlike other map apps which only download pre-rendered images (map tiles), our maps are only a fraction of the size, and you can better control the appearance of the map with different style sheets and data layers.

Please Note:
1. Using the GPS features of this app can significantly affect battery life. Only leave GPS enabled when you need to use it. You can also control the GPS accuracy in the settings screen of our app to help reduce battery drain.
2. This app does a one time per version anonymous registration to our server. This sends only very basic information such as language and iOS version to help us better improve our app. We do *NOT* track your usage or collect any personal information.
3. This app uses open map data from openstreetmap.org, please visit their website to check the map detail for specific regions.
