Images of the new century: a different look at historyIn this application, each year of the decade is represented by a gallery of photos with captions and a story written by the photographer. This application offers a new look at a century that is barely into its second decade. It contains 130 photos taken by Agence France-Presse journalists in the period 2000-2011, together with 135 short texts that give insights into history as it is made. Texts that confront us with some events which are light-hearted, touching and inconsequential, and others which are terrifying, painful and heavy with historical impact.
This is the first of a series of applications on a single theme to be launched this year.
