App Description

Check your ability to focus your mind despite interference! We invite you to test yourself with the so-called Stroop Test adopted for iPad.

Stroop Effect app is a fun experiment in neuropsychology. Find out how your brain is playing tricks on you. See if you can train your brain to ignore interference.

There are 3 variations:
- No interference
- Light interference
- Heavy interference

In each version you must tap the color of the word and NOT the color described by it. For example: if the word Blue is printed in red ink - you should choose Red as the answer.
You will get one point for each correct answer and minus one point for each incorrect answer.

You have 30 seconds in each test. Do your best!

Features:
- develop your memory and concentration
- train your ability to focus
- compare results with other players in the Game Center
- great fun for a company of friends

Why?
The words themselves have a strong influence on your ability to say the color. The interference between the different information (what the words say and the color of the words) your brain receives causes a problem. There are two theories that may explain the Stroop effect:

Speed of Processing Theory: the interference occurs because words are read faster than colors are named.
Selective Attention Theory: the interference occurs because naming colors requires more attention than reading words.

The interference effect suggests you're not always in complete control of what you pay attention to!
