App Description

This tomato is angry. The farmworkers who harvested him received sub-poverty wages, were denied fundamental labor and human rights, and, in the most extreme cases, were forced to labor in the fields against their will in situations of modern-day slavery.

And while the exploitation of the workers who picked the Angry Tomato and many more like him is perpetuated by corporations like supermarket chains Ahold USA (parent company of Stop & Shop and Giant), Kroger, Publix, and Trader Joe's, these chains have refused to enter into a Fair Food Agreement with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) — an internationally-recognized Florida farmworker organization that has reached agreements with nine of the world's leading food retailers, including McDonald's, Subway, and Whole Foods, to improve wages and working condtions for tomato pickers.

Through these agreements, a better tomorrow is on the horizon for thousands of farmworkers, and the only remaining obstacle is the supermarket industry! Join the Angry Tomato and send a powerful message to Ahold, Kroger, Publix, or Trader Joe's: it's time for you to do the right thing and sign with the CIW!

Features:
- locate the nearest target supermarket
- use your phone's camera to take a photo of your local store (or select from included stock photos)
- customize your own poster by virtually throwing Angry Tomatoes at your store's photo, and including your own message to encourage the corporation to sign on with the CIW
- share your poster with your friends and with the corporation via Facebook or Twitter
