Wine and wine grapes have been produced from the Fairfield and Suisun Valley region for well over 100 years. In the early 1900’s the Mangels Winery had grown to more than 500,000 gallons of annual wine production, shipping via ice laden rail cars to the East Coast from Fairfield, and represented on of the largest wineries in California for the time.

Today visitors to Fairfield can quickly access the multiple wineries, olive oil producers and farm stands of Suisun Valley, just outside city limits. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations will find a wide selection of branded hotels within several miles of Suisun Valley offerings, making visitation fun and easy.

Winery tasting rooms generally pour samples without fee daily and special events are frequent. In valley and in town restaurant offerings cover a wide selection of menu and price points, many sourcing local wines and foods. Picnic lunches can be brought to most tasting facilities.

Wide selections of fresh produce can be found shopping the multiple Farm Stands of Suisun Valley, some year round.

Fairfield and Suisun Valley are bisected by Interstate 80 providing unique ease access to major metro areas of San Francisco/Oakland and Sacramento within one hours travel.
