Spades ‪∙‬ 4+

I’ve been playing this game for a few mos now and it’s a wonderful game. However, I don’t like how that there is no rules or settings feature where you can adjust the game and give your partner names, change the playing cards, the table, etc. But the main thing I hate is that if you over bid your hand, you’re liable to be penalized 100 points! The scoring for this issue is not consistent. Once we over-bidded our hand by 4 books, and we WEREN’T penalized the 100 points, but we were penalized for making ONE book over our bid. I’m looking for another spades game as I write this review. I wish Ai Factory was on the play store.

I have been using this app as well as many other Optime apps for years and they have always been great until the recent introduction of ads. I understand the need for the funding the ads generate and would be perfectly fine with it, but the ads do not work correctly. The ads do not appear on screen, but pop up in the background in the middle of a game and I can hear them while I am playing the game. When this happens, the app slows down to a crawl and eventually just crashes and loses the game progress. It just seems they tried to push out the new version with ads before they had worked out all the bugs.

I just tried to play 3 different games and never got past 250 points because the game would crash and when I reopened the app, my progress was gone and I had to start a new game. Before the ads were introduced it was a great, 5 star app, but now it has dropped down to 1 star since I can’t even finish a game without it crashing. I thought about upgrading to add free, but I read other reviews saying there are issues with that version too. There are too many options for spades games on the App Store to have to deal with these types of issues so I guess I will be on the lookout for a new spades app.

Inept player Meagan is a minor problem...(Is she the red team's sister?) The scoring is so biased and fraudulent! Bid 3 make 2, and you might lose 30 Pt's one time; lose 40 points another time; and then lose 60 points another time! Anytime the "Blue" Team is winning, the "Red" Team gets extra points, and the "Blue" Team gets a "Penalty" and the "Red" Team gets an extra bonus!
As an educator (principal and teacher) for over 30 years - I find this cheating is deplorable! I love a good challenge - but I want the activity to be fair! Same points added and subtracted for the same activity.
Other reviewers and I are looking for other "Spades" games where our skills are treated with RESPECT and HONESTY!
