Numerous drugs have the ability to pass through the placental barrier to reach the fetus during pregnancy, potentially leading to toxicities. The same phenomenon occurs when a woman breast-feeds her child with drugs that pass from the mother’s blood into her milk.

You (or your husband, this app is not restricted to women !) are expecting a baby or your new born is breast-fed ? You have a headache, cramps, digestive disorders, or a medical prescription for any chronic disease and you wonder which drugs you can take and which you must not ? With this app, you will be able to know what to do, which drugs to take and which you must avoid because they may be toxic to your baby. After the welcome screen, simply touch “Check your drugs”, then type in the first letters of the drug, and you get direct information on whether it is OK for you to take the drug (“O”) or NO, you should not take it (N), depending on the trimester of pregnancy.

This app gathered informations on more than 500 different drugs and has been developed by pharmacists and physicians on the basis of scientific and medical data retrieved from the international literature.

De nombreux médicaments traversent la barrière hémato-placentaire, atteignent l’organisme de l’enfant pendant la grossesse, et peuvent potentiellement être toxiques. Le même phénomène se produit chez la femme qui allaite son enfant, par passage des médicaments qu’elle reçoit dans le lait.
Vous (ou votre mari) attendez un enfant ou bien votre enfant est nourri au sein et vous avez des maux de tête, des crampes, des troubles digestifs, ou bien un traitement déjà prescrit par votre médecin, et vous vous demandez quels médicaments vous pouvez prendre et surtout quels sont ceux qui peuvent être dangereux pour votre bébé et que vous devez absolument éviter ? Avec cette application, vous aurez la réponse en 3 « clics » : touchez l’écran d’accueil, taper les premières lettres du nom du médicament, et vous saurez immédiatement si OUI vous pouvez prendre ce médicament (« O ») ou bien si NON vous ne devez pas le prendre (« N ») et trouver un autre médicament, plus sûr, ou bien en parler à votre médecin ou pharmacien.

Vous trouverez des informations sur plus de 500 médicaments. Cette application a été développée par des pharmaciens et des médecins, sur la base des données disponibles dans la littérature scientifique internationale médicale et pharmacologique.
