App Description
This English-German language guide provides you with approximately 1200 phrases and expressions categorised according to typical travel situations. There are also some extra pages explaining how to write/say cardinal and ordinal numbers as well as time and date in German.
Contents: important phrases, emergencies, meeting and describing people, talking about hobbies and work, describing places, tourist information, sight-seeing, asking for and giving directions, changing and withdrawing money, at the post office, internet café and lost property office, travelling by plane, train, ferry, taxi, car, renting a car, sport activities, hotel reservation, eating out, shopping, seeing the doctor, pharmacy, body parts, ailments, hairdresser, weather, dating, flirting, numbers, time, date
For many topics there are additional vocabulary lists with useful words.
– Dictionary –
The language guide contains an English-German dictionary with more than 300,000 entries. The dictionary works offline without internet connection. Words are listed while you are entering the letters. This might be especially useful if you are not sure about the correct spelling of a word. With the parameter * you can even look up parts of a word, e.g. to find words with a certain ending. On entering “a*ing“ for example, you will find all words beginning with “a“ and ending in “ing”.
– Index Cards –
Entries from the language guide and the dictionary can be added to two lists of index cards. This allows you to always have your most important phrases ready and to start a card index on words/phrases that you wish to learn.
Note: This language guide does not contain any audio files or transcriptions. Working with this language guide, it is advisable to already have some knowledge of German pronunciation.
