Meet Jean-Frédéric Bazille, a French painter who as friend, benefactor, and colleague of the Impressionists, played an important role during the movement’s formative years. Bazille was an unenthusiastic medical student before his wealthy parents permitted him to study painting. While a student in Paris, he met Monet and Renoir, with whom he worked, traveled, and shared his studio when they could not afford their own. With Bazille HD, you will find more about Bazille, who had seemed destined to occupy a prominent place among the Impressionists until he was tragically killed in the Franco-German War.
