Imagine seeing large, colorful fish swimming 6 meters below the surface while snorkeling at sea. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to dive deeply with one big breath and take incredible pictures for your friends at home? The Apnea Trainer makes it possible! By using it to train three times a week, you can quickly double your underwater time.

This is the same training principle used by apnea divers. It’s based on a yoga technique which strengthens the diaphragm muscles allowing you to fill your lungs with more oxygen and releasing more carbon dioxide while exhaling. The system is relatively simple and depends on finding the right time intervals which are provided by the program, thus letting you relax and concentrate on your breathing. This will guarantee maximum training success.
The program will also come in handy just before the actual dive since a pranayama mode is already included. The Apnea Trainer will help you keep your whole body calm and give you the perfect preparation for those amazing, long-lasting dives.

Features:
+ Training to improve free diving time

+ Pranayama mode to calm your body before diving or snorkeling

+ Custom time settings for pro divers

+ Optical and Audio instructions

+ Easy to use interface

Awesome update/edit. Get Results!

Below is my original review from a long time ago however I wanted to give this latest version and the designers another 5 stars if I could. So just to update, the app is great in every way. A few changes along the way has made it even better. One more thing I would like to have (and the app may already have it I just haven’t found it) is a sound confirmation that I have started the timer. Not a tic tic tic but just a beep on start to let me know I have started the clock without looking. Great app! If you freedive or just want to learn how to relax deeper I highly recommend this app.

Oh yeah

I’m a yogi and been doing pranayama for some days. And now, exploring free diving. I’ve been checking out these breath apps for a bit. Everyone annoyed me and I just went back to the “real thing.” This app, actually, is the real thing. It’s better than a guided meditation. It’s a super incremental challenge. It’s giving me the opportunty spread the message by saying, “yo man, do my app with me.” They like, “what?” And I bust it out. I’m excited enough I wrote a review. I have never done that for anyone before.

Gets the job done, but worth the $???

UPDATE: timer is now defaulting to 23:05:00 vs 00:05:00 as the developer has indicated is the default below. No response to emails sent with screenshots of such. While it’s a minor issue, there’s simply no need for a timer to even go to these ranges. A better setup would be to emulate that of the recent change to iOS where a user can set hours, minutes, and seconds.

First, I don’t free dive but needed something that would give me focused breath control practice.

This app is pretty simple but gets the job done. For my purpose, at least. I use it for a guided relaxation breathing practice because I’m lousy about doing it on my own.

It does have a couple quirks:
1. The timer isn’t labeled so you have no idea that the left number is HOURS and the right is MINUTES. And for some reason, it defaults to 17:05:00.

17 HOURS!?!?!?

2. The instructions for the app are lacking and some of the App Preferences (AM/PM time) have no explanation of what they do so you have to toggle them on/off and “search” for what change took place.

Overall, don’t know that’s its worth $2.99 though.

Developer Response ,

Hi Chi Chi, the default is actually 5 minutes. Would be nice if you could contact the support to find out what caused this issue. AM/PM is for our friends in the USA, instead of 16:00 you will see 4 pm. If you have questions feel free to contact me using the support or FB.
