The "Otto File di Antignano®" Maize (Antignano's Eight-Row maize) has been cultivated on the Asti hills from the beginning of the last century.Characterised by a more tapered cob, with just eight rows of brown-red kernels, this maize has very unique organoleptic properties.
It was known as the "Melia du Re" (King's Maize): a nickname that perfectly suits its typicality.
Today is it cultivated exclusively by Antignano Prodotto Tipico®, a Slow Food community of Terra Madre.
