Sir Walter Scott was, in his lifetime, a prodigiously prolific writer; many of his novels (like these tales at hand, and also like the fondly-remembered Ivanhoe) were set in the very Scottish counties where Scott lived. My Aunt Margaret's Mirror is one of his famous book.
