The App is a collection of Japanese Woodblock Prints (Ukiyo-e), as known as Pictures of the Floating World. It began in the 17th century during the Edo Period, and was intend to depict the everyday lifestyles and themes for the people of the time. In addition to their artistic value, ukiyo-e can be said to be a faithful historical representation as well.
