App name changed. Faster data reception.

App Description

This app is an *** augmented reality world explorer ***. Hold your iPhone transversely and let the camera take a look at your surrounding. Turn yourself around and you can discover relevant buildings, mountains, and other points of interests (linked to Wikipedia articles) within a radius of 6 miles. These releant ponts of interest are indicated by red markers. The yellow labels are buttons and can be clicked. They will guide you direct to Wikipedia articles. A map function shows your current position and the position of the point of interest you are interested in.

This program depends on the iPhoneGS build in compass- and GPS-Signals. You virtually can see what there is behind a wall or a building.

This app is preferably an outdoor-application. You need a proper compass-data, a good GPS-signal and a fast connectivity.

***Features
- Camera image overlaying markers for points of interests from Wikipedia
- Labels (yellow) are clickable.
- Markers (red) become bigger, when the points of interests are nearby
- Altitudes of points of interests are considered
- GPS altitude correction is considered

***Please consider:
The reception of GPS signals is a bit vulnerable to failures in massive buildings, in cars, trains on board of ships or aircrafts. Near cars, boats, heaters, and other bigger iron objects, also the compass signal from the iPhone can be interfered. Please avoid buildings and metal objects within a radius of a few yards. This program can only be as good as the signal from GPS and the build-in magnetic compass: In case of minor compass deviations, you can adjust the bearing with the slider at the bottom on the right side.

***Older iPhones or iPodTouch
For older iphones (first generation and iPhoneG) without a compass, you can use the slider at the right bottom to directly setting the direction of looking.

***Big city: Many points of interests
If you've got too many points of interest, try to reduce them by getting down the slider on the left side where you can vary the radius of vision from 6 miles (default) to 0.

***Car mode:
If you use the program in a moving vehicle, the heading information will be taken from GPS instead of the compass. The threshold to detect movement is a velocity of 3m/sec. In case of that, you should hold the device into direction of driving. For instance, fix your iPhone at your cars rearview mirror.
