App Description

This is a light version of the popular abstract board strategy game iGomoku. Nearly 6000 copies of full version of the game were downloaded during first month after the release.

The origin of Gomoku seems to be from China. The name "Gomoku" is from the Japanese language, in which it is referred to as gomokunarabe (五目並べ?). Go means five, moku is a counter word for pieces and narabe is often associated with these kind of games, meaning something akin to lining things up. It is traditionally played with go pieces (black and white stones) on a go board, however, because once placed, pieces are not moved or removed from the board, Gomoku is often played on paper with naught and crosses similar to Tic-Tac-Toe.

The rules are pretty simple. Black plays first, and players alternate in placing a stone of their color on an empty intersection. The winner is the first player to get an unbroken row of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Gomoku (Chinese: 五子棋, Pinyin: wǔzǐqí; Japanese: 五目並べ; Korean: 오목, Hanja: 五目, Russian:Крестики Нолики) is known under different names including Five in a Row, Connect Five, Gobang, Omok.
