You want pandas? How about live pandas? You looking for cute? Heres downright adorable. Bai Yun just gave birth to her 5th panda cub at The San Diego Zoo on August 5, 2009 and theres a panda cam on her (and the wiggly baby) 24/7! The San Diego Zoo, home to Giant Pandas Bai Yun, Su Lin, Zhen Zhen and Gao Gao has worked closely with China since 1987 to exchange and breed this beautiful and endangered species.

Today the panda cam stream shown is mostly Bai Yun in the den with her new hairless hamster-looking baby. When she goes out to eat, if youre lucky, the cam zooms in on the almost white (until about 1 month of age) fuzzy baby. Sometimes the zoo techs seize Bai Yuns eating time to weigh and measure the baby, in which case cam 11, 15, 17, or 27-29 are shown on the feed to watch Bai Yun do what pandas are known for: munching on mass quantities of bamboo.

There are 4 giant pandas in residence at the San Diego Zoo, and after the baby gets old enough to leave the den, the other pandas take turns onscreen. Look for the letter C in the lower left corner of the panda cam. The proceeding number indicates which panda you are looking at. Su Lin A Little Bit of Something Very Cute is Bai Yuns 3rd baby born August 2005 is cameras 1-3. Zhen Zhen Precious is Bai Yuns 4th baby born August 2007 is cameras 4-7. Gao Gao Big Big, papa bear to Bai Yuns last 4 babies is cameras 23; 30-32. Camera 25 is the den, where the cam stays these days in hopes of a glimpse of squirmy baby panda whose name will be given at 1oo days of life, following Chinese tradaition.
