The following iphone/ipod app is based on the premise that good and bad events in one's life can increase stress levels and make one more susceptible to illness and mental health problems (Holmes & Rahe, 1967).

This is a list of 43 events that can cause stress, they are ranked in order of their LCU (Life Change Unit).


To test yourself and answer yes or no. Your Iphone/Ipod will add up the points and plot your results over time. Feel free to email your love one and friends, now you can show your spouse how stressed you really are!
The answers to these questions are based on the last YEAR events.


SCORING
Your susceptibility to illness and mental health problems:
Low < 149
Mild -50
Moderate -99
Major >300

The app has some links for the user to visit. You must have an internet connection in order to get to these links or to email your friends/health care provider.

The app also has sound samples:
Funny:
Burp, Farting long, Fart, Flush

Soothing:
Heart rate normal, Joy to the world, rain, rain forrest, thunderstorm, white noise, wind

Positive sounds:
Cheering, clapping, excellent, good job, great, kisses, one small step, Reveille, right.
