App DescriptionLED Clock is a retro LED clock from 1970's.
It tells the current time, date, the time period (AM/PM) and the day of the week.
The date is in MM-DD-YY format.
The time is in HH MM SS format.
About LED Segments Technology.
It is based on an old LED technology called LED Segments. It has only 21 segments per one character display.
Each character is made of 21 strokes or segments.
LED 21 Strokes per character limits information display by using only a short band of upper-case ASCII characters, numbers & few special characters.
For example, due to this character limitation, a LED panel cannot show ":" (colon) or "." (period).
Interestingly enough, this LED segment technology was widely used back in 70's and 80's in making a display of a digital watch or a digital device.
It's still being used as a front digital display of an electronic device due to its low cost in manufacturing.
LED Clock has 4 LED Segments panels.
- Time LED Segments Panel : max 8 characters.
- Date LED Segments Panel : max 8 characters.
- Week Day LED Segments Panel : max 9 characters.
- Time Period LED Segments Panel : max 2 characters.
The current time and date are the iPhone's or iPod Touch's current time and date. To change the time or the date, change them in Settings app.
