- This version replaces Nov 2008 and Dec 2008 with Nov 2009 and Dec 2009. Hence, all 12 months now belongs to 2009.- The flipped view includes two more additional Panchang details, Yog and Karan, for each day.
- This version adopts the prevailing philosophy that there are normal days and auspicious days. Hence, the "Festivals" screen now includes list of festivals and list of Shubh days only.
- The implementation to qualify Shubh days for specific events like marriage, Automobile purchase, House warming etc. is in progress and we hope to release it soon.
App Description
Panchang is an application providing daily panchang details for the year 2009 based on Indian lunar calendar.Uses for Panchang:
- For each calendar date it provides lunar month, lunar day, lunar paksha, lunar days for Muslim, Parsi and Jain (Hindu) communities.
- It indicates in three different colors whether a particular day is Shubh(auspicious) - in red color; or Ashubh (inauspicious) - in gray color; or normal day - in blue color.
- It provides a list of approx. 50+ major festivals for quick reference.
- It provides the grouping of dates based on Lunar days. For example, all Poonam days are listed together to help find out the next date for a particular lunar day.
- It also provides the grouping of days based on Shubh or Normal.
Features for Panchang:
The application provides three views of daily panchang:
1. Sorted by month and denoted by month numbers 1 through 12 on the right hand side of the screen. You may tap on any month number to jump directly to that particular calendar month.
2. Grouped by lunar days, tithi. This view allows to see a particular tithi, say poonam, grouped together for the whole year. You may tap at the number 0 for Amavas (New Moon) through 15 for Poonam (Full Moon) on the right hand side of the screen to see all the days for that particular tithi in the year.
3. Festivals and Shubh. This view provides the list of all major festivals in the year. The days are also grouped by Shubh days below this list. You may tap on any of these two texts on the right hand side of the screen to jump to those particular details.
4. In any of three views as above, the user may navigate to the details by tapping any particular row.
5. Once tapped, it provides a tile view of the details applicable to that particular calendar date.
6. You may tap on this tile view to get a flipped view of the tile providing further details. An example of the flipped view and associated details is shown in the screenshot below.
