What's New

1.4.1 fixes a bug that caused a crash when creating a new drawing.

1.4 is a huge upgrade to No.2 with many new features. Installing the upgrade will replace the first six pages of your "Documentation" book with new documentation pages (or will create the book if you deleted it).

Some of the new features include:
COLOR - Draw in any color; sample a color from the screen or pick a new color and set it's brightness and transparency.
PEN SIZE - Chose from 1 pixel to 10 pixel diameter.
RING TOOL - New tool image can be held from any side and never obscures your drawing.
IMPORT - You can import any image from your camera, photo library, or paste from the clipboard.
EXPORT - Share you drawing directly by email, export it to your photo library or copy it to paste into any other app.
LINE SMOOTHING - lines are smoothed as you draw so you wont see any more corners.
ZOOMING - Now there is unlimited zooming! Also double tap to zoom in or out.
FASTER - The app starts faster, images load faster and thumbnails appear faster.

App Description

Draw with precision and control. Our unique virtual stylus lets you start and stop drawing on the exact pixel you intend, and see the line while you draw it. You're too old for finger painting, start using a pencil!

Touch the ring tool to move it, then tap with a second finger to start drawing. You do not need to hold the 2nd finger down, just one tap, anywhere on the screen; it's as simple as clicking the button on a mouse!

Precise
Start and stop every line you draw exactly where you want it. Unlimited zooming lets you get as close as you need for detailed editing.

Controlled
Hold the ring tool anywhere you want, from any side, so that you can see every line as you draw it and your finger is never covering the image below. It doesn't matter if you're right handed or left handed or how you turn your iPhone, iPod or iPad. Draw in any orientation.

Simple to Navigate
Drawing is always done with the ring tool, so touching the image provides effortless one-finger scrolling, two-finger zooming and double-tap to zoom. You can quickly and accurately position the image so that it is in the perfect place for the next line you draw.

Smooth
Our drawing engine smoothes the line as you draw to prevent sharp corners where you didn't intend them.

Colorful
Quickly sample a color from your photo or drawing or choose a new color along with brightness and transparency adjustments. Shortcuts for white and black make it easy to get those colors exact.

Flexible
Import and export options make it easy to edit any image. Grab a new image from your iPhone camera, from your photo library or paste any image from the clipboard. Finished images can be immediately emailed, exported into your photo library or copied onto the clipboard for use in any other application!

You should not expect No.2 Pencil to let you draw or write as fast as you can with a pencil or pen. You've been practicing with pencils and pens for most of your life. It also cannot compete with "finger painting" apps for immediacy or speed. Because there is a tap required to begin each line, it is a little slower. In exchange you get much more control and can draw with a level of detail that is simply impossible with other drawing apps.
