The basic principle of the hydraulic press is based on the so-called Pascal's law.

Pascal's law formula

F₁ = A₁ / A₂ * F₂
p = F₁/A₁

where:
F₁ - force applied to the first piston
F₂ - force applied to the second piston
A₁ - area of the first piston
A₂ - area of the second piston
p - pressure of the liquid inside the hydraulic press
