What's New

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

~~~ Version 1.3.2 ~~~
Accessibility Improvements/Bug Fixes:
The Last Calculation Widget now responds to Smart Invert Colors by not inverting the three buttons.
When adding or subtracting sales tax when VoiceOver is on, the result is read out in English (“tax is [answer]”), and not in Yoda-speak ([answer] tax is).
When the app is opened and VoiceOver is on, the number readout gets focus.
~~~ Version 1.3.1 ~~~
Bug Fixes:
I fixed a bug where the tax cap amount on the tax settings screen would revert to black or light gray when the night theme is on and the tax cap is changed.
I fixed a bug where using the undo button when a calculation includes added or subtracted tax would generate an incorrect answer.
I fixed a bug where changing the screen brightness from 0% or 100% to a value in between after launching the app would not change from night/outdoor theming back to day/indoor theming.
I fixed a bug—I think, the bug was difficult to reproduce—where buttons on the button pad sometimes wouldn’t change color when switching between day and night themes (and possibly indoor/outdoor themes).

~~~ Version 1.3 ~~~
Light Side, Dark Side:
Myriad now has automatic indoor, outdoor, and night themes. Text gets darker and bolder in bright light, and the entire interface changes to a dark background at night.
Customize the night theme with 9 dedicated colors.
You can even use the night theme all the time if you like.
Plus, you can now change the app icon to match the daytime color.
Read All About It:
I’ve improved the in-app user manual. It has a redesigned table of contents, a new section that discusses accessibility features, and now uses a custom page-size for excellent pagination and narrower margins for comfortable reading on small screens.
Minor Changes:
When attempting to scroll past the scientific buttons, the divider lines now stay in place on iPhone and stretch to the right on iPad.
Bug Fixes:
The math expression now scrolls properly, and furthermore will no longer scroll vertically or diagonally.
When you perform square, cube, or factorial after wrapping the expression in parens/brackets, an extra set of parens/brackets are no longer added.
The app no longer crashes when you press the undo button when entering a number in exponential notation that has a negative order of magnitude with one digit (E −1 to E −9). (Whew!)
I fixed some bugs where parts of the math expression would be inserted at the wrong place.
I fixed a bug where using the undo button could crash the app in certain cases (and in the process rewrote the offending section of code altogether).
On the Trigonometry worksheet, the Secant and Cosecant cells were mislabeled (The actual Secant was labeled Cosecant and vice versa.)
The caption above the large readout wasn’t responding to the Darken Colors accessibility setting. I fixed that.
The app icon on iPad Pro (12.9″) wasn’t right. That’s fixed too.
:)
App Description
Myriad is a modern calculator for iPhone and iPad that offers 34 predesigned worksheets. Need to calculate the tip at a restaurant? There's a worksheet for that. Converting milliliters to teaspoons? There's a worksheet for that too. Buying a new home? Yep, there's a worksheet that tells you the monthly payment on the loan.
33 worksheets are unlocked with in-app purchases, while the Restaurant Bill worksheet, general-purpose calculator, and all other features are completely free.
In addition, Myriad has many useful features that other calculators leave out:
• Myriad keeps a running math expression that shows everything you've entered.
• A history list records each calculation you make so you can check for mistakes or copy past answers. You can easily delete, reuse, and reorder items.
• Myriad includes sales tax buttons to add or subtract sales tax from a total.
• A dedicated undo button lets you easily correct mistakes.
• Tap "round" to round off numbers to a set decimal place.
• Myriad includes keyboard shortcuts, perfect for iPad Pro.
• Myriad automatically switches between light and dark themes and uses bolder, darker text when it’s bright out.
• Choose between nine daytime colors and nine nighttime colors.
• Myriad supports system-wide accessibility technologies, including Darken Colors and Smart Invert.
• I even wrote a full user manual that you can read inside the app!
Myriad is great for math and science problems too:
• Enter extremely large or small numbers using exponential notation.
• Calculate exponentials, logarithms, and factorials from the button pad in both portrait and landscape orientations.
• Use the Trigonometry worksheet to convert angles and compute trig functions, the Quadratics worksheet to solve quadratic/parabolic equations, and the Exponentials worksheet to compute multiple exponentials and logarithms at once.
Plus, it works on your wrist too:
Use the Apple Watch app to make quick calculations from your wrist and impress your friends. It handles percentages and sales tax, and even includes a handy worksheet for figuring the tip and splitting payment when eating out.
