We bass anglers all dream of winning the lottery, buying the boat & truck, all the rods and reels, and piling up a cart full of baits before driving off into the sunset to chase chunks forever.

We live for that tug on the line. We chase it every day we can. We fish topwaters in the morning, then some senkos. We hope on each cast to haul in a big tub from the deep. We eat some lunch and a beer, admiring our bass thumb. Hopefully it’s so bad that beer is a little harder to open. We look forward to that evening bite, when we can use a new buzz bait and draw blowups from structure below.

We get more stoked about a new PB than most people get about a promotion. We do like promotions though, more money means more lures. Maybe we can finally get that $15 topwater everyone is throwing :).

We understand each other. Bass fishing is a way of life. We’re a different breed in a way, and non-anglers don’t get it. But that’s ok, we have our own people, our own language. We are cut from the same cloth. We feel the joy of the strike together. When one of the group gets skunked, we all feel the pain.

We tell tales. We send pictures, we send emojis. We’ve gotten every mile we can out of that one fishing emoji on iOS. We’re in a fishing emoji crisis, actually.
