Bus2alps was founded in 2003 when we ran our first bus trips to Interlaken and the Amalfi Coast from Florence, Italy. Today, we are the largest student tour operator in Europe, and we pride ourselves on being American study abroad students' first choice for travel.

In 2003, a train strike left a group of study abroad students in Florence stranded and unable to follow through with their weekend plans to travel to Interlaken, Switzerland. This incident marked the first Bus2alps trip as we were able to step in and provide bus transport to the Alps. Since that weekend, we've grown to travel to over 40 destinations—but the name stuck, and 14 years later we still call Interlaken our home base.

Every year since, we’ve grown exponentially—from 5,000 passengers in 2009 to 30,000 last year. And, we continue to expand way beyond the Alps. We run trips to over 50 destinations across Europe and North Africa and it just keeps getting better. We won TourRadar’s Most Amazing Tour Award two years running as well as Hostelworld’s Best Tour Award for our famous Amalfi Coast trip to Sorrento, Capri, Positano, and Pompeii, and we hold all our trips to the same exacting standards.

We only partner with top-rated accommodation, transport, and activity providers in Europe, from St. Christopher’s hostels to New Europe walking tours, so you’re guaranteed to get the best in every destination. Each semester our staff undergoes a rigorous training to ensure we’re ready to deal with any and all situations that may arise in the safest way possible. Our guide team is made up of experienced travelers, many of whom were previous study abroad students. They understand what makes a great trip and want to show you the Europe they love.

We are a fully insured licensed, and bonded tour operator and a member of the prestigious European Tour Operators Association as well as the WYSE (World Youth Student and Educational) Travel Confederation, so you can count on a high quality, professional experience.
