The best way to learn a foreign language is by talking to native speakers. Everyone knows it. There is no substitute for chatting with local people in the language you are learning. It is fun, rewarding and the quickest way to become fluent. And with websites dedicated to connecting people from across the world like italki, HelloTalk, Skype, and even Facebook, finding someone to practice with is easier than ever.

However, finding someone to practice conversation with is only the beginning. Making conversation a habit and ensuring you are learning the most you can is the hard part. Conversation practice can feel awkward, frustrating, and disorganized. Tracking your progress and reviewing the vocabulary you learn is a pain.

* Studying and reviewing your vocabulary between lessons is hard
* Since there is no curriculum, it is easy to lose track of your progress
* New words and phrases get sent to you in different message threads via Skype or Google Hangouts

While studying Chinese through online conversation practice I felt all of these problems. So I built a few tools to help me. I have used these tools during hundreds of lessons and would love to share them with you. Hopefully they help you too.
