Could be 5 stars (but it’s not)

Things I find annoying:
- there is a red circle with a 3 on the icon that looks like a sun (mode selector?) leading me to believe there are 3 notifications. Click on the icon and no messages. Nothing in the device log.
- sometimes when I adjust the temp manually it saves, sometimes it reverts back to the programmed schedule right away. Nothing is obvious or tells you how to save your new temp. Have to check to be sure.
- system log section: there’s nothing here. Shouldn’t there be something? Like when I lost power to the house the other day? Schedule adjustments? Anything? Also it appears to be sectioned into categories but no option to “view all”, not that there are any logs to view.
- no way to view system usage. Would be nice to know how long the thing has been running today or this week vs last, etc.

Can say it IS nice to be able to check in on my heating/cooking remotely. Connectivity has been solid, no issues there. Scheduling is generally straightforward but like when adjusting the temp, I have to go back in and check to be sure my intended changes were saved since there’s no way to confirm, no “save” button.

Overall, it works at a basic level but some useful features that could be there aren’t.

High hopes led to a big let down

I’ve had this app for about a year now and have found myself wanting toss my phone several times over the frustration of something that seems like it should be so simple, yet it’s not. So if you’re reading this reciew, let me help you from having some of the frustrations I’ve had. Obviously if you a Bosch and you want app support this is your option. It will require you to setup an account but the ridiculous part is it requires a 12 character passcode with a number and a character. Once you create the longest and ultimately the most complicated password you have, hopefully you have good success in putting it in twice because guess what, Bosch has no option to see what your typing so you ensure you’re matching your two very passwords. Maybe this is to keep foreign spys from looking over your shoulder and having access to ways of destroying life one degree on the thermostat at a time, or maybe it’s because they are a-holes. Either way, be prepared to try matching it up multiple times and make sure you WRITE IT DOWN! Why? Because randomly Bosch kicks out your “remember me” and at 3am when you want to adjust your thermostat you’re trying to remember your very unique and very long passcode that IOS does not like to store for you.

So, shame on you Bosch for not only over complicating the login process, but for kicking us out of our accounts randomly.
Good luck!

Difficult to keep connected

As other reviewers state, app has difficulty connecting even though wifi is good. I don’t understand the issue. And the fact that Bosch has yet to do anything about it is sad. I thought I was upgrading my system but instead installed this Bosch system that is unreliable. My AC installer “sold” me on the wifi connectivity and app application as an “upgrade” from a manual thermostat. Because I’ve heard of the great Bosch heat pump, why not upgrade my thermostat as well?
When the app can connect and work, it’s great. Simple. No fuss. Just want to adjust and turn system on/off. That’s all that is needed. But 85% of the time, system has trouble connecting to app and am unable to do anything via phone. I guess it’s as if I have a manual thermostat after all. Frustrating because the potential is there. Bosch, do better please. If not, then remove your Bosch name and allow others to do better. Thanks.
