App Description

The official tourism app of the Miyama, Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce Tourism Department! This convenient, free app allows you to easily look up recommended walking routes, great restaurants, and sightseeing information for Miyama.

Miyama is located in the Chikugo region of Fukuoka Prefecture, about one hour by car from the City of Fukuoka.
Miyama was created in 2007 from the amalgamation of three towns: Setaka, Yamakawa, and Takata!
It's a picturesque place, with endless, lushly green rural scenery and pristine air!

From cherry trees and tree peonies, to rhododendrons and maple trees, you can enjoy the scenery here in any season!

Miyama is full of unique delights! The city carries on many of the traditions of days of yore. There's the "kowakamai," a traditional form of dance said to have been performed by the legendary warlord Oda Nobunaga; the Tsutsui Tokimasa sparkler factory, which keeps alive the art of Japanese sparklers; and Uchino Camphor, made with a method unchanged since the Edo period!

What's more, we have all sorts of produce, raised in rich soils! These include the sweet, delicious Yamakawa mandarin, and local celery, of which our region ships the most in all of western Japan (so many stalks!!). The region is also one of Japan's three largest producers of pickled mustard greens.

Places that soothe, astonish, and captivate visitors; Miyama has many of these.
There's "Kiyomizu-dera Honbo Garden," said to have been made in the Muromachi period (1333-1573 AD) by the artist Sesshu Toyo; the "Nagata mineral springs," which boast the most carbonated water in Japan; and "Yabe River Kusubee," the world's largest mascot character at a total length of 938 m. (He appears at whim.)

The app also has information about a variety of events!

Please use this app to find your own new favorite places in Miyama.
