Love it, but...

Another thank you for developing an app for the game. I have a couple of minor annoying quirks with this version of the game. I don’t like that when a high card is played, so often the next highest card is thrown, even though strategically, it would have been wiser to hold onto it longer. Makes the play too predictable. Also, I’ve seen it when, if I start the hand with an ace, and the player next to me only has one card, and it’s a 5, and must play it, my partner will not throw their own 5 on my ace that turn. And, when a player is deep (5 or 6 cards on suit) throws their 5 prematurely, losing it, when they have lower numbered cards to play. Being able to go “off suit” is an important element of play. Don’t like that we can’t go off. Another annoyance is some of the bidding is WAY reckless. Makes it hard to “properly” bid when my partner bids a 12 with a Jack, 10, 7, 6 and and a 5. BUT, I do LOVE the game though!

Fun

6th edit on my review and only changed the Americans are the quitters. Great app. Lots of fun, just like at the table. I do wish that bidding 14/28 was allowed. I know different regions have different rules. The glitches in the ap are so much better. Hardly ever get tossed out anymore. Pidro is a game we all play here in south Louisiana. Now I know it’s played in Finland and California and there strategy and style is COMPLETELY different than the Cajun way. It is just like table play. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS GAME. Wish there was a way the game makers could penalize the players that quit the game when they are about to loose just to keep there percentage high and it’s always American players. BUT, as of 2024, the quitters are not so active anymore. No such thing as a legitimate 65%. Only addition as that there seems to be a huge drop in active games. Is there another Pidro app that folks have left for?????

Update is GREAT!

First off, the update four days ago is just what we needed. I’ve played about 10 games since the update and have not had ONE issue. Pedro is a very fun game that test your strategy and partnership capabilities. Luck is of course a factor but playing smart will definitely give you the advantage.

I’m here to clear something up. Apparently, PEDRO/PIDRO has a large fan base in southeast USA, predominantly Louisiana and Europe, predominantly Finland. The basics to the game are exactly the same. The only major difference is that here in Louisiana, we utilize “off” cards while playing a hand. It is hard to have any strategy without using off cards but this app is still the first ever made and only available at the moment. In my opinion, it is amazing. I have so much fun playing a card game I learned as a kid with people from all over the world. Thanks to the creators!

5 stars to the app creators
