Nice app

Just bought it. Has nice features like adding new materials types and prices to calculate costs. Can’t tell if the measurements in the app use nominal or actual sizes and whether I need to adjust for that.

Developer Response ,

The measurements are actual sizes and KerfMaker adds a kerf width around each part. If you still have questions about this, please contact me through the form at KerfMaker.com and I will do my best to answer. Thanks!

Useful, but could use some updates

First, this app does exactly what it says - it helps you plan out your next build. That said, I do have a few complaints. Or, rather, suggestions for improvement. First, it’s not iPad optimized; I have a phone sized display in the center screen that’s difficult to use. Second, the sizing is done by a scrolling wheel for inches and fractions; putting in a piece that’s 84” long means scrolling all the way to 84. A simple keypad would alleviate this. Third, there’s no option for plywood as a building material, only a generic “wood” option.

In light of these shortcomings, I can only give it 3 stars for the moment. If these were addressed, I wouldn’t hesitate to give 5 stars.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for trying KerfMaker and for your feedback! If you would contact me through the feedback form on KerfMaker.com I would like to ask you a little more about your suggestions.

Very useful

Does exactly what it says. I use it all the time, for remembering dimensions of all sorts of sites and workpieces around the house.

I wish it had an option to sync by iCloud instead of Dropbox. I wish it were quieter about syncing unless it's taking a while. I'm still giving it five stars.

AR measurements would take it to a whole other level.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for the feedback! I've been thinking about what's in the next version and it's super helpful to know what you think would be useful.
