At the Sky Lakes Wellness Center, we offer a variety of services including our Weight Management Program, Mindful Meals Cooking Classes, stress management classes, introductory yoga and introductory circuit training. Weight Management Program: With personalized medical oversight from a multidisciplinary team, combined with group classes that support the core of the learning, the Live Young Weight Management Program is unique among weight loss programs. Clients are supported by a weight loss team comprised of a board certified weight loss physician, a dietitian, a behavioral therapist, and a nurse, each with distinct skills and training to maximize every participant's success. Interested participants can attend a free informational session to learn about the details of the year-long program that features individual visits with all providers and group classes. Unlike fad diets that result in a frustrating cycle of weight loss and regain, the Live Young Weight Management Program incorporates evidence-based practices from those who have succeeded with long-term weight loss. In a medically-supervised environment, the Program strives to help participants make sustainable lifestyle changes by approaching wellness in a holistic manner, as opposed to a quick-fix diet. By combining instruction on topics ranging from nutrition, physical activity, stress management, mindfulness, and increased confidence to make healthy lifestyle changes, employees will be set up for long-term success, helping them feel better, be more productive, and miss work less often. Mindful Meals Cooking Classes: From learning how the carbohydrates we cook impact our risk of diabetes, to cooking to prevent cancer, to learning simple and affordable techniques that will please the whole family, these sessions will teach you cooking skills that you can use forever. Led by Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, Jennifer Lehman, these hands-on cooking classes will teach you tasty recipes and inspire a new cooking style. You will build your confidence in the kitchen, inspiring change through food education, and ultimately empowering you to eat for your health! How to Increase Joy and Decrease Stress -- Stress Management Classes: By learning about and practicing tools such as mindfulness and relaxation exercises, this course will enhance your communication and listening skills, reduce your professional and personal anxiety, and help you create a healthy work/life balance. Led by a Licensed Professional Therapist, Jeanette Rutherford, you will learn strategies and techniques to increase your awareness of your relationship with yourself and others. Experiential as well as didactic activities will be used to increase the joy and decrease the stress in your life! Introductory Yoga and Introductory Circuit Training: A great way to get started in both of these practices in a safe, non-threatening environment.
