App Description

What is Brightime?
Brightime app supports users in their journey to build resilience by taking them through an interactive deep breathing guide whilst monitoring heart rate and heart rate variability using the camera on the back of the device. Additionally, the app automatically tracks how many minutes the user has been physically active throughout the day using the accelerometer in the device. There is early scientific evidence that there may be an association (not causation though) between moderating heart rate variability through deep breathing and physical activity, and an improvement in a user’s reported stress levels. So, the more active the user is and the more deep breathing they do throughout the day, the higher the resilience score the app awards. This positive change is reflected in the brighter weather icon (sunshine!) as the interactive home screen uses the analogy of the weather.

How can I access Brightime?
At this stage, access to Brightime app requires an access code which will be provided to some Bupa customers by invitation only. We appreciate your understanding. Please email [email protected] for more information.

Note: Activity capture on older devices eg iphone5 and older may be less accurate compared to newer devices and may drain your battery faster as they require the accelerometer to be running continuously in the background.
