App Description

This app is a backup power capacity calculator for Fire Alarm and Security Systems.

Batteries are used to provide the Fire Alarm and Security Systems with the required secondary (standby) power.

Most Fire Alarm and Security Systems connected to a central station are required to have 24 hours of battery standby power with an additional amount of power to operate the notification appliances for 5 minutes as per the Fire Alarm Code. If a voice evacuation system is installed, 15 minutes of alarm power is required.

This app calculates the backup power capacity (battery size). The calculations provided with this app are required by the Code and they must be provided as part of Fire Alarm and Security System Systems design documents.

In addition to calculator, an example calculation is provided in the help page of this app.

This app is developed and tested for all versions and sizes of iOS devices including iPhone and iPad.
