As someone keen on wearable technology encouraging me to get fit, it felt a little too easy to be cynical about the Apple Watch before getting my hands on one. The battery life sounded poor, it looked kind of bulky, and the lack of built-in GPS made me wonder why I’d want one to go alongside my iPhone. The Ascension Update is the title of Taichi Panda's second major expansion, which is out now and includes an increased level cap, two more story chapters, and a new Mega Boss event.
Taichi Panda is a hack-and-slasher in which you battle your way through a variety of challenging dungeons as either a panda martial artist, a muscular warrior, a dextrous treasure hunter, or a powerful fox mage.
The Ascension Update raises the level cap to 90 and challenges you to complete two new higher-difficulty story chapters that pick up right where the previous expansion left off.
Higher-levelled players will also earn new gear and skills on their way to the new level cap but that doesn't mean lower-levelled players miss out. The new equipment discovery system allows players of level 64 and over to use Refinement Stones and Lunar Tears to increase the quality of their orange gear.
Refinement Stones and Lunar Tears are rewards for completing both the new levels and server-wide Mega Boss battle. This teams you up with all of your fellow server heroes against Nemeus, a nightmare-ish monster from the deep.
Also included is a brand new outfit for each hero and two new pets, Wise Dory and Nami.
